IS THERE A QUIET PLACE I CAN GO TO DO MY HOMEWORK? FYI: Yosemite images above were taken by Mrs. Reed.
The Placerita Library is a great place to go to do your homework and is open before school from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. as well as after school from 2:35 - 3:15 p.m. (Friday's close early at 3:00 p.m.). Besides library and AR books, there are tables to do your work at, textbooks available to use, and computers for assignments, taking AR tests, and checking your grades.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO ASK QUESTIONS WHEN NOT IN CLASS?
If you have questions, stop by the classroom after school between 2:35 to 3:30 p.m.
The next best time is before school 7:45 to 8:00 a.m.

HOMEWORK ... WORK?
Work in our class is started in class and can sometimes be finished in class. No new paper will be given at the end of class to become homework. Work not finished in class is to be finished at home and is written in the homework section of the student planner. Every student works at a different pace so work in class that isn't finished is finished at home at your own pace. Even if you finish the work in class, you need to check your work to make sure it is completely finished (no blanks...make your best guess) and is quality work to help you for future assessments.
WHY DON'T YOU POST HOMEWORK WRITTEN IN THE PLANNER?
Not every student has access to electronic devices or computers. Class time is given every day by your team teachers to write in your homework without needing to access a computer or electronic device. Writing in your own homework helps you remember and keeps all the different classes of homework in one easy to read page for you to refer to. If your parent asks "Did you finish your homework?" you can show responsibility by opening your planner and showing the matching completed work with what you wrote in for homework.

I HAVE MISSING WORK. DO YOU ACCEPT LATE WORK?
Yes! Doing the work is important to learn or reinforce the concept so I do accept late work. Be sure to finish the work completely and do quality work showing your understanding of the science concept. Turning in the missing work the NEXT school day is best to keep you caught up in class. Late work is NOT accepted AFTER an assessment - you need to learn the information BEFORE you take the assessment.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHECK INFINITE CAMPUS?
Your work and assessments take time to check over and grade, record, and enter into Infinite Campus so I do not update grades every day nor do I usually post grades the first week of any quarter. I typically update Infinite Campus Portal 1 or 2 times per week.
DO YOU OFFER EXTRA CREDIT?
Yes, I do offer extra credit:
1. Each stamp in your planner is extra credit turned in at the end of each quarter.
2. One time per quarter I usually offer an extra credit assignment, project, or lab experiment that we can't get to in class that is worth extra credit.
3. "Anytime Extra Credit": If you discover a great website, app, experiment or activity, etc., then write the info down and turn it in to me. If the info is directly beneficial to our curriculum and I could use it to help student learning, I will give you extra credit for that write up!

I AM ON TEAM ATTITUDE. WHAT EXACTLY DOES THAT MEAN?
Team ATTITUDE students are the students who have the same 3 team teachers. All the students on Team ATTITUDE have Ms. Fernandez for English, Ms. Blevins for World History, and myself Mrs. Reed for Science. If you miss writing in the homework or are absent, contacting one of your teammates is a great way to get caught up with most of your classes.
